Varsity Double Header at Heater-Newman Tips at 6:00

Tuesday night at Heater Newman gym local fans have a rare entertainment opportunity to enjoy a basketball double header, an award-winning band and the Grants Pass rally squad that just finished second in state plus its Senior night.

The Cavemen, winners of six out of their last seven games, start things by tipping off against the North Medford Black Tornado at six. The Cavemen are 6 and 4 in conference a half game out of 3rd place in conference while the Tornado are 3 and 6. The Cavemen’s power ranking has climbed from 38th to 27th in the state and are qualified for a post-season berth.

The Lady Cavers are slated to tip off at 7:30 also against the Black Tornado. The Cavers are 2nd in conference, playoff bound, and winners of six of their last eight games. The Tornado are 3 and 6 and are fifth in conference.

Other Southwest Conference action has 2nd place Sheldon visiting 3rd place South Eugene. South Eugene trails Sheldon by a single game. Conference leading South Medford is playing at 7th place Roseburg.

Other local action has Hidden Valley at Klamath Union. North Valley is also on the road at Brookings-Harbor. Riddle is playing at New Hope Christian.
