Walmart Thief Admits to Crime, Lodged by GP Police for Theft II
Grants Pass Police arrested the suspect in a Walmart Theft after he purposely didn't scan merchandise.
Loss Prevention from the 135 NE Terry Lane store detained the shoplifter, later identified as Christopher Balestra after he took shoes and food from the store. He had proceeded to the register but didn't scan all of the items in his cart.
Balestra was cooperative as officers arrived to take him into custody. It was found he had attempted to steal over $250 in merchandise from the store by intentionally not scanning all of the items.
Balestra told officers he knew he was in the wrong, but law enforcement noted in their report he showed little remorse due to stealing from a corporation. He was subsequently taken into custody and lodged in jail for a charge of Second Degree Theft.
