West Files to Run for JoCo Board of Commissioners
Former Commissioner John West is running for Position 1 on the Josephine County Board of Commissioners.
The Daily Courier reports he filed for the position on Tuesday. West said in an interview that he was ready to "finish the job", referring to his 2022 goals of cutting government waste and reducing taxpayer burdens.
After a year of reflecting, West said he has a "foolproof" plan for possible cost cutting solutions after having said following his 2024 recall that finding places to cut spending was difficult.
West said the upcoming jail and juvenile levy was one of his ideas for reducing taxpayer burden, but continued that he would divulge more of his plan in the upcoming election.
