GP Man Hospitalized after Medical Event Caused Crash Off Williams Highway

A Grants Pass man was hospitalized after a weekend medical event caused him to crash his vehicle off Williams Highway near Murphy.

The Oregon State Police reports troopers and emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle wreck on Highway 238 near Crystal Drive on Sunday at 11:15 a.m..

State troopers said an investigation indicated that 79-year-old Bradley Lavern Ruonavaara was driving a Chevrolet MOC when the vehicle left the highway, went through a fence and into a grass field. They said the driver suffered a medical event that caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

Ruonavaara was transported by ground ambulance to Three Rivers Medical Center.

The wrecked Chevrolet was hauled into Grants Pass by Oregon Towing.
