Firefighters Extinguished Small Blaze near CJ that Likely Came from Campfire
Firefighters from multiple agencies knocked down a small vegetation fire near Cave Junction early yesterday.
On Thursday at 10:09 a.m., the Illinois Valley Fire District, Oregon Department of Forestry and Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest responded to the blaze at the intersection of Robinson Road and BLM Road 39-7-35.2.
Arriving units found a very small fire burning in moderate fuels and they quickly extinguished it.
IVFD officials said a preliminary investigation suggests the fire originated from a smoldering campfire that was left unattended.
