GP Police Snared Man for Warrant & Drug Possession in Suspicious Activity Call

Grants Pass Police arrested a man on a local warrant and for drug possession early yesterday after receiving a report of suspicious activity in a downtown alleyway.

According to the Police Department, officers responded to the incident in the alley near Cash Connection in the 700-block of SW 6th Street on Thursday at 7:51 a.m..

Police said the store manager called 9-1-1 to report three people -- including 32-year-old Dakota Alan Ree -- possibly doing drugs in the alley not far from Gates Home Furnishings.

Responding officers contacted Ree and found him to be in possession of several drug paraphernalia items that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. He was also found to be wanted on a Grants Pass warrant for failing to appear in court for Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle and 3rd-Degree Theft.

Ree was lodged in jail on the warrant plus a new charge of Meth Possession.
