GP Police Jailed Woman for Hitting another Woman with Her Car on NE D Street
Grants Pass Police jailed a woman for using her vehicle to injure another woman over the weekend.
The Police Department reports officers located the suspect vehicle and arrested 38-year-old Jessica Faith Sessions at a residence in the 700-block of SE 8th Street on Saturday around 2:30 a.m..
Police said Sessions struck a woman with her vehicle during an altercation in a parking lot in the 800-block of NE D Street. They said the suspect fled the scene while failing to performing duties as the driver involved in an accident.
The victim -- identified by GPPD as "Alexis Demarco" -- was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
During the post-arrest interview, Sessions admitted to "unintentionally" striking Demarco with the rear of the Nissan Altima she was driving. She advised she was in fear of the other woman when she left the parking lot. She also said she did not notify law enforcement because her cell phone was dead and that she did not call later because she was in shock.
Following the investigation, Sessions was placed into custody and lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Felony 2nd-Degree Assault, Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felony Hit-and-Run and Reckless Endangering. She was being held without bail.
