GP Police Snared Felon for Parole Violation by Being Under Influence of Meth
Grants Pass Police arrested a felon for violating his post-prison supervision by being under the influence of narcotics near a north-city ice cream parlor last night.
The Police Department reports officers contacted 38-year-old Jordan Ellis Haas near Udder's Ice Cream off NE 7th Street during a patrol check on Thursday at 9:23 p.m..
Police said they observed Haas appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and nodding off while standing up in the travel lane through the parking lot. They said he was unable to care for himself due to recent drug use. As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from the use of narcotics.
During a consent search, Haas was found to be in possession of a user amount of methamphetamine. It was seized for destruction.
Haas was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Meth Possession and the resulting Felony Parole Violation. He was being held on a no-bail detainer.
