OSP Investigating Weekend Crash Involving ODOT Vehicle on Interstate 5
The Oregon State Police was investigating the cause of a weekend crash involving the Oregon Department of Transportation on Interstate 5 near Smith Hill Summit.
OSP reports troopers responded to the two-vehicle collision in the southbound lanes of I-5 near milepost 74 on Saturday at 10:30 a.m..
Troopers said they were conducting a crash investigation with ODOT's assistance when an ODOT truck struck a sedan parked on the freeway shoulder to avoid a collision with a vehicle passing the crash scene.
According to OSP, the ODOT employee was a 39-year-old Grants Pass man driving a Ford F-350 and the other driver was a 51-year-old Wolf Creek woman operating a Cadillac XTS. No one was hurt and no tow was required.
Crash reports were provided to both parties.
