The Grants Pass Police Department has apparently made two arrests related to a December 17th shooting incident at a Rogue River Highway apartment complex.
At 9:30 p.m. on December 17th, Grants Pass police officers received multiple calls reporting shots being fired in the 1400-block of Highway 99. Responding officers found multiple bullet casings in the parking lot of an apartment complex, but the suspects had fled before the arrival of law enforcement.
Due to the seriousness of the shooting, GPPD detectives and the Chief Deputy District Attorney conducted the initial investigation. It was determined that multiple gunshots were fired at occupied apartments, but no one was hurt. The Oregon State Police Crime Lab collected numerous items of evidence as the investigation involving local, state and federal agencies continued.
Last Friday, Grants Pass Police arrested 18-year-old Austin Shaw-Rideout. On Monday, police arrested 18-year-old Easton Michael Foley. GPPD has not yet issued a press release, but jail bookings indicate the young men were arrested for a recent violent shooting incident.
Shaw-Rideout and Foley were both charged with 12 felony crimes including six counts each of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Attempt to Commit a Felony. Both were being held without bail as the investigation continues.
