GP Police Snared Trio for Drug Possession in Patrol Check at J Street Campsite
Grants Pass Police arrested three men for drug possession while performing a patrol check at the SE J Street campground early yesterday.
The Police Department reports officers found an occupied Nissan blocking the entrance to the designated campsite on Thursday around 3:45 a.m.. Signs were posted stating "Authorized Vehicles Only" and that vehicle constituted a hazard.
Police said they observed three men identified as 54-year-old Matthew James Merideth, 54-year-old Andre Robert Fisher and 37-year-old Steven Carsten Juergensen inside the vehicle. They said all were in possession of either a white crystal substance later identified as methamphetamine or equipment used to smoke meth.
All three men were placed into custody and charged with Meth Possession.
Merideth was lodged without bail at the Josephine County Jail while Fisher and Juergensen were cited to appear in court and released. The Nissan was towed.
