Why Not Market robber sent to prison
One of the robbers of the Why Not Market was sent to prison for 70 months today by Judge Pat Wolke in Josephine County Circuit Court.
19-year-old Alec Imel previously pled guilty to entering the market, located at 1641 Rogue River Highway, on Sept. 1, 2013, and robbing the clerk at gunpoint. The clerk was also attacked with a club and was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Video surveillance showed the robbery was a two man job and 31-year-old Joel Paz was arrested with Imel four days after the robbery at Imelís residence on Rogue River Highway a couple blocks away from the market. Authorities allege Paz was the second suspect in the case.
Paz is still lodged in the Josephine County Jail awaiting trial.
