City Council takes step toward making City Hall parking more citizen accessible
The Grants Pass City Council during their Monday workshop decided to move forward with a plan that would improve citizen parking and accessibility to City Hall.
City Manager Aaron Cubic addressed the councilors about the plan which would eliminate 14 city employee reserved spots near City Hall and would make parking around the perimeter of the complex more accessible. Employee parking would be moved to the area of 5th and A streets. Parking along A Street would have an increase to a three hour parking limit. Several reserved parking spaces for Public Safety would remain.
Cubic said this approach focuses on city residents and that it can be dangerous for citizens to cross A Street to reach City Hall in the current parking layout.
All councilors approved of the idea and it will be added to a future agenda for approval.
