Bank robber sentenced to 18 months prison
A bank robber pled guilty in Jackson County Circuit Court Tuesday to robbing four banks in late 2012 and early 2013 and he was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Prosecutors say 31-year-old Christopher Ryan Wood robbed two separate banks, the Sterling Savings Bank on Stewart Avenue and the U.S. Bank inside Albertsons on N. Phoenix Road, twice each and made away with a total of $20,000 cash. In each instance, he would act threatening towards the clerks but never displayed a weapon or injured anyone.
Wood, who had no criminal history prior to the robberies, will be eligible for early release.
