Homeless Man’s Body Recovered in Irrigation Ditch off N. Pacific Highway
Medford Police Sunday found the body of Paul Norman Munday, 54, in an irrigation ditch in a field owned by Sierra Pine Mill in the 2600 block of North Pacific Highway.
Police were sent there after an acquaintance told authorities they were concerned about Munday’s welfare because he had been making suicidal comments. He was last seen alive on Saturday.
Officers were familiar with Munday, who was homeless and searched his camp. They contacted a witness who reported seeing a man matching Munday’s description put his walking cane down and walk into the ditch.
Officers found the cane and then found Munday’s body a short distance downstream submerged.
No manner of death has been determined pending the results of an autopsy.
Munday was a registered sex offender and was on probation.
