Volunteers Brave Weather to Remove 4,000 lbs. of Trash from Rogue
Despite the wind and rain, close to 1,300 volunteers statewide spread out over beaches and watersheds as part of the annual SOLVE Beach and Riverside Cleanup.
36 volunteers, with support of the Rogue River Watershed Council, B.L.M. and the Army Corps of Engineers removed 4,000 pounds of trash from the Rogue River near Shady Cove.
47 beach cleanup sites were postponed because of the weather, but over 50 inland sites ranging from the Rogue River to Hood River were still cleaned.
