Storm Warnings in Effect
The National Weather Service is forecasting a potent series of storms will move through southwest Oregon this weekend bringing strong winds and significant rain.
A high wind warning has been issued for both mountains and valleys from 11 a.m. this morning to 11 p.m. Sunday night for areas including Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Selma, and O’Brien; also impacting Interstate 5 and Highway 199.
This unusually strong system will produce significant rainfall with widespread rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches likely with as much as 10 inches in the mountains of Western Josephine County.
That creates the potential for flash flooding over the wildfire burn scar areas. A flash flood warning has been issued for Josephine, Curry and Douglas counties.
