Medford Gets Federal Grant Funding 3 Police Officers
Four Oregon cities, including Medford, were awarded funding grants from the Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services today.
Grantees were selected based on their fiscal needs, local crime rates, and their community policing plans with additional focus this year on agencies requesting assistance in developing school safety programs that include the hiring of a school resource officer.
Medford’s grant was $375,000 for three officers. The three other cities were Winston, Sutherlin, and Junction City, who will be funded for one officer each.
