Medford P.D. Arrest 3 with Gang Ties for Assault, Robbery, Drugs
The Medford Police department, with assistance from the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team and the SWAT team arrested Kristin Nunez-Gomez, 19, Juan Nunez-Gomez, 21, and Anthony Mathis, 19, on assault, burglary, robbery and drug charges late Thursday night following an assault and home invasion of a 21-year-old woman.
The victim notified police shortly after four Thursday afternoon she had been assaulted and robbed while at a residence in the 2600 block of Hayden Place. Allegedly, the three suspects entered the home un-invited and confronted her over a continuing dispute about drugs and money from a party Wednesday night.
Kristin struck the victim with an Asp Baton, inflicting significant injuries to her face and upper torso, while Juan displayed a knife. They left after taking undisclosed property from the victim.
That night Police observed Kristin and Mathis leave a residence in the 1800 block of Inner Circle and conducted a high risk traffic stop at Brookhurst and Crater Lake Avenue taking both into custody, tasing the uncooperative Kristin.
Then a search warrant was served on the apartment at Inner Circle where Juan Nunez-Gomez was located and arrested.
Both Kristin and Juan are documented Sureno gang members and are charged with assault, robbery and burglary, while Mathis is facing those same charges plus possession and distribution of heroin. Bail for each of the suspects is over $2 million.
