Two Republicans Filed for Jackson County Commissioner Positions
Two Republicans have filed for seats coming available on the Board of County Commissioners for Jackson County.
Rick Dyer, of Medford, has filed for the seat currently held by Don Skundrick while White City resident Joel Ockunzzi is seeking the position now held by John Rachor. Both Skundrick and Rachor have indicated they will not seek re-election.
Dyer, who says he has lived in the valley for 37 years, is licensed to practice law in California and owns Northwest Energy Solutions, a construction company focusing on home remodeling and energy efficient projects.
Ockunzzi, a 33 year resident of the valley, has served six years on the Planning Commission and is part of the Governorís panel to provide more oversight on land-use issues in Southern Oregon.
He ran unsuccessfully for the Commission in 2012.
