Fire danger drops to high due to recent rains
The Oregon Department of Forestry has announced the fire danger level has dropped to high, or yellow, today due to rainfall across Josephine and Jackson counties Tuesday.
The industrial fire precaution level has also dropped to level one.
Chainsaws, metal grinding or welding and the mowing of tall dry grass is now permitted until 1:00 p.m. daily. Proper fire prevention supplies such as a fire extinguisher, bucket of water and shovel should be on hand.
Smoking is only allowed in enclosed vehicles and vehicles are only allowed on improved roads.
Debris burning, fireworks and exploding and tracer ammunition is still prohibited.
