Street Re-Surfacing Could Sidetrack Medford Commutes
A plethora of re-surfacing projects in Medford starting tomorrow may cause traffic delays as workers lay down a slurry seal on major roadways. The work could last through Tuesday.
Transportation officials are encouraging motorists to find alternate routes for sections of East McAndrews Road, East Main Street and 14th Street.
Monday crews will lay down a thin layer of asphalt, known as micro-surfacing or slurry seal, on East Main from Willamette Avenue to East 8th.
The East Main work is part of a project that will eliminate two lanes, while adding bike lanes and a center turn lane.
From Saturday to Monday, crews will add a layer of asphalt on East McAndrews from Brookdale to Hillcrest and Monday west 14th will receive the slurry seal from King to Newton streets.
All work will be done between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
