DUII Driver Crashes Van into Medford Home
A 48-year-old Medford man was hospitalized, then cited and released from custody, but remained in Providence Hospital after crashing his van into a residence in the Crater Lake Avenue/Bradbury Street residence.
The investigation revealed the van, traveling on Bradbury toward Crater Lake Avenue when it accelerated, crossing the Avenue, missing the cross traffic, crashing through a fence and striking a home in the 2900 block.
The van driver, Douglas Eugene Hayes, showed signs of intoxication and was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine. Hayes driver’s license was misdemeanor suspended due to previous traffic crimes.
His injuries were characterized as minor. There were no injuries to the three occupants of the home, which sustained exterior damage.
Hayes was charged with DUII, Reckless Driving and Driving While Suspended.
