Big Windy Fire 10 percent contained
The Big Windy Fire has reached 10 percent containment. The fire 25 miles northwest of Grants Pass has burned 14,085 acres. 1,233 firefighters, 49 engines and four helicopters are stationed at Big Windy. Burnout operations have been completed at the Black Bar Lodge and are continuing along Bear Camp Road. Crews are continuing to construct fire line along a major western ridge. The three fires that comprise the Big Windy Complex, the Big Windy, Calvert Peak and Jenny fires, have now merged.
The Douglas Complex of Fires located seven miles northwest of Glendale has burned a total of 44,045 acres and is 32 percent contained. The fire has been pushing containment lines in Skull, Bonnie, Bear and Riffle creek areas. 3,138 firefighters, 120 engines and 25 helicopters are fighting the Douglas Complex.
The Labrador Fire 13 miles northwest of Cave Junction is still at 2,020 acres and is 0 percent contained. 185 firefighters, six engines and five helicopters are at the Labrador Fire and they are continuing to use aerial attacks on the blaze.
