Heavy Smoke Causes Cancellations
Heavy smoke emanating from the many wild fires in the area are creating a health hazard and forcing some cancellations in the area.
The air quality index in Josephine County is rated as hazardous. Anyone with respiratory problems should avoid the smoke if at all possible. The Heath Department recommends against all outdoor activities and to stay indoors and bring all house pets also. Particulate masks may be purchased at area hardware and drug stores. The two recommended are N95 and p100.
Larry Graves, the Josephine County Airport Manager has cancelled the Illinois Valley Airport Advisory Board meeting that had been scheduled for tonight.
The Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled the Concert in the Park Tuesday night and re-scheduled Functional Fusion to perform on August 13th.
