Happy Camp Fires Active & Growing; Firefighters Gaining
The Happy Camp complex of fires remains active and growing, now having consumed 76,959 acres since it was started by lightning on August 12th.
Last night the fire continued to burn actively with rolling materials and snags continually being problematic. The fire area is in a Red Flag Warning with ridge top winds gusting to 25 miles per hour and low humidity.
The mandatory evacuations have been lowered to advisory evacuations and to this point firefighters have lost no structures.
The force fighting the blaze is now up to 2,847. That makes up 91 crews, 13 choppers, 93 engines, 21 dozers, 44 water tenders, plus the 29 mules and 8 horses to haul supplies
