Only one new fire reported in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest as firefighters make big strides in firefighting effort
Fire crews in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest report only one new small fire has appeared in the past 48 hours and they’ve made significant progress in bringing all fires in the forest under control.
77 fires were created by last week’s thunderstorm and 33 of those fires are now considered out. The remaining fires on the High Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains Ranger Districts and outside of the Camp Creek Complex are now contained.
These fires have caused no major injuries and have created no significant cultural or historical impacts to the National Forest.
Firefighting resources are being redirected to other major fires throughout Oregon.
