Walden in So. Oregon to Tour Ashland Forest Resiliency Project & Speak at Guard Mobilization
U.S. Representative Greg Walden will be in Jackson County tomorrow to tour the Ashland Forest Resiliency project. The goal of the project is to reduce the wildfire risk in Ashland’s watershed and protect the city from fire coming into town from the watershed.
The project utilizes provisions of legislation Walden co-authored, the Healthy Forests Restoration Act, and he has been a strong supporter of federal funding for the project.
At 10 a.m. the Congressman is scheduled to speak during the Oregon National Guard mobilization ceremony of the 1st Battalion of the 186th Infantry Regiment at Southern Oregon University’s McNeal Pavilion.
