Public Forum on the Demolition of Dimmick Tower Tomorrow Night
An open house to discuss the demolition of Dimmick Tower, formerly Josephine Memorial Hospital, is being hosted by the County Commissioners Thursday night in the Anne Basker Auditorium beginning at 6:00.
The project manager, Seth Otto, will be on hand to give an overview of the project and what it means for the public. He’ll be dealing with potential risks associated with the demolition like the containment of hazardous materials, such as asbestos and lead; what impact the project will have on traffic and circulation plus access to the County’s Public Health Department.
A remedial action plan for the project is under review by the D.E.Q. Bids are expected to go out in mid-July with a contractor to be selected by the third week in August. Demolition is expected to begin in September.
Technical experts and representatives of the county and state will be available to address questions and concerns.
