Alleged Rogue River murderer lured handyman to his death
The Rogue River woman accused of murdering and dismembering two people lured one of her victim’s to her property with the promise of handyman work.
Detectives began investigating 65-year-old Susan Monica when she used the Oregon Trail Card of missing person 56-year-old Robert Haney.
Haney’s family say Haney answered an advertisement posted by Monica for handyman work. His family hadn’t spoken to him for at least two months when they reported him missing just before New Year’s Day. Authorities allege Haney was killed on Sept. 9, 2013.
Investigators say the other victim was killed on Aug. 1, 2012, but they have not released the victim’s identity.
Search and rescue teams are searching Monica’s property in the 9100 block of W. Evans Creek Road again today for additional evidence.
