2nd Murder Charge Levied Against Rogue River Woman
A second murder charge was filed against 65-year-old Susan Monica when she was arraigned in Jackson County Circuit Court Monday afternoon. She faces two counts of murder and first degree abuse of a corpse plus one count of identity theft.
Monica was arrested Friday afternoon on the identity theft charge and when investigators executed a search warrant on her ranch in the 9100 block of West Evans Creek Road they discovered evidence of the homicides.
Court documents alleged one victim was murdered on August 1st, 2012 and the second on September 9th, 2013. Neither victim has been positively identified however authorities believe they know who they are.
According to neighbors Monica was a welder who built wrought-iron gates and fences while living in part of a makeshift barn on her property which includes a pond.
Authorities have been at the property continuously since the Friday arrest.
