Phoenix bank hit by robber
The Umpqua Bank in the 4000 block of S. Pacific Highway in Phoenix was the target of a bank robber at approximately 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Authorities say a man walked into the bank wearing a black hoodie and ski mask and carrying a Wal-Mart plastic bag. He told the teller to fill the bag with cash within 60 seconds while the suspect threateningly kept his hand in his pocket. He then fled west from the bank on foot.
Phoenix Police and other area law enforcement agencies spent hours in the area with tracking dogs but the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a white male between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and he had a slight accent.
