Public Health warns of extremely virulent flu
The Josephine County Public Health Department released information today from the Centers for Disease Control that warns residents about a particularly virulent strain of flu that is spreading across the country.
The pH1N1 virus caused 380,000 hospitalizations last year and doctors are trying to monitor its spread this flu season. This particular strain of flu can cause severe illness in young and middle-aged adults.
The CDC recommends annual influenza vaccination for everyone six months and older and it is not too late to receive a flu vaccine for this season.
