Fund Raising Efforts Elevate Ashland Museumís Profile
Ashlandís Science Works Museum has nearly met its goal of $1.5 million during its first campaign in eleven years.
Only $70,000 remains in the campaign which has allowed Science Works to purchase its own building and is enabling the Museum to begin to seek out traveling exhibits from places such as OMSI and the San Francisco Exploratorium.
About $1.2 million was raised earlier this year from major donors like the Meyer Memorial Trust and the Ford Family Foundation with the public campaign to raise the final $300,000 kicked off in September.
When that fundraising is complete the Murdock Charitable Trust has agreed to donate an additional $250,000.
The fund raising is allowing the museum to renovate its learning lab and staff has started a prototype for a tinkering studio called DaVinciís Garage.
