District 7 Sets Public Hearing on Charter School Application for January
An application for a Josephine County Charter School has been made to the District 7 School Board. At their Tuesday meeting the board scheduled a public hearing on the proposed charter school for January 14th at 3:00 p.m. in the Districtís offices on Dean Drive.
The board felt the application minimally met the requirements for a complete application, but felt the application lacking in detail in the areas of curriculum and budgeting. They also felt the application did not identify a compelling need for the school, nor did it outline any innovative instructional technique that is not available through District 7.
The board also voted to accept a bid from Western States for the South Middle School asbestos abatement at a cost of $7,391. The work to be scheduled during Christmas break.
