Promotions in Medford Police Department
Two promotions were announced for the Medford Police Department. The position for a new Deputy Chief became available when Tim Doney left the department to become Chief of Police in Springfield, Oregon.

Following a competitive internal promotion process, a 26 year veteran of law enforcement, Brett Johnson, was chosen as the new Deputy Chief in charge of the Operations Bureau.

As a result of Johnsonís promotion Sergeant Kevin Walruff was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned as commander of the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team. Walruff has 23 years of police experience which began as a member of the Josephine County Marijuana Eradication Team.
