Why Not Market robber sent to prison
A man who robbed the Why Not Market on Rogue River Highway last Sept. 1 was sentenced today by Judge Lindi Baker to 90 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections.
31-year-old Joel Nathan Paz and 19-year-old Alec Imel entered the market with a handgun and a club shortly before 11:00 p.m. They struck the clerk in the head with the club and then they grabbed the cash register and fled the scene.
The clerk received medical treatment at a local hospital.
Paz pled guilty to first-degree robbery and possession of methamphetamine.
Imel previously pled guilty to second-degree robbery in October and he was sentenced to six years in prison.
