Police make an arrest in October car jacking
On October 16th, 2013 at approximately 7:43 pm, officers with the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to a report of an armed robbery of a vehicle that had just occurred at 1590 SE “N” street. Officers arrived within minutes but were unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle.
Last night at approximately 11:50 PM, Oregon State Police arrived on scene to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Horseshoe Drive in Colonial Valley. OSP contacted several people at the scene and soon discovered the vehicle had been stolen.
This morning detectives with the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety picked up the investigation and were able to determine 16 year old Guillermo Rodrigues Castro was the lone gunman responsible for the October 16th robbery.
Rodriguez Castro was subsequently arrested on charges of Robbery 1, Theft 1, Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Menacing, Unlawful use of a firearm and Pointing a firearm at another person. He was lodged in the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Facility.
