Bear Creek Clean-Up on Medfordís Council Agenda
A Bear Creek clean-up plan will be discussed at the Medford City Councilís Thursday meeting. At noon in City Hall the Council will discuss a comprehensive plan to clean up the banks of the creek from 10th to McAndrews Avenue, eradicating the area of invasive species and replanting native vegetation.
The plan would take three to five years to complete to insure the native vegetation is firmly established.
The removal of plants and treatment could cost as much as $28,000. Designing the replacement planting would run as high as $5,500 and the cost of the plants about $72,000.
That does not include the cost o maintenance, monitoring, erosion control and permits.
The project would be partially funded through grants and volunteer work parties.
