Wolf Creek Man Jailed After Hijacking Commercial Truck
Travis Blondell, 36, of Wolf Creek is in the Douglas County Jail after hijacking a commercial truck at knife point and attempting to elude State Police and other police agencies along Interstate 5.

Troopers received a report at 9:54 last night that a blue Peterbilt truck had been hijacked at knife point in Wolf Creek where the driver had stopped for dinner. The suspect fled in the truck, complete with a load of paper products, north on I-5.

Authorities learned Blondell, who had been arrested a week earlier for assaulting a police officer, was the hijacker.

Douglas County Deputies and Roseburg Police deployed spike strips south of Roseburg after the truck was spotted headed north from Myrtle Creek. Several tires were successfully deflated and eventually shredded completely.

Five miles north of Roseburg the truck went into the median and became stuck at which point Blondell refused to exit the truck forcing police to use a canine to take Blondell into custody. He was treated for dog bites prior to arrest.
