Council Hears Assessment & Recommendations for Economic Development and Tourism
Grants Passís economic development and tourism efforts are on a par or above similar cities, but there is room for improvement according to a performance audit delivered to the City Council from Sjoberg Evashenk Consulting out of Sacramento.
Their representative presented the audit to the council at the Monday workshop and pointed to several areas recommended for improvement.
Generally the report said the city is taking a proactive and resourceful approach, and has provided a funding stream through the transient room tax.
The audit went on to say the goals and brand strategy are in need of updating to include the internet and social media. The audit recommends a re-organization streamlining the two departments into one to establish a clearly defined vision to enhance economic development and tourism.
