Alleged Umpqua bank robber caught in California
An alleged bank robber was arraigned today in Josephine County Circuit Court on eight counts of robbery and a single count of aggravated first-degree theft.

According to court documents, 20-year-old Michael James Quinn entered the Umpqua Bank in Grants Pass with his father, Mark Quinn, on March 27, 2012, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the clerks in the building. They obtained the money and then fled out a side door and managed to evade apprehension.

Eventually, El Dorado Sheriff’s deputies in California tracked the Quinn duo to a hotel where they were apprehended for a previous robbery at a JP Morgan Chase Bank in El Dorado Hills. When questioned about the Umpqua Bank robbery, Michael said he was present when his father had robbed the bank. During a search of the room deputies located a black pellet gun.
