JoCo unemployment rate creeps up in January
The Josephine County seasonally adjusted unemployment rate crept up slightly in January to 11.7 percent from 11.6 percent in December.
According to a release from the Oregon Employment Department, the unemployment rate has remained relatively stagnant over the past year.
The county lost 620 payroll jobs last month with 120 jobs lost in retail trade, 100 in construction and 80 jobs in professional and business services which rounded out the top three sectors with the most declines.
There are currently 140 less payroll jobs in the county compared to this same last year.
