An Eagle Point man is being held in Jackson County Jail on Charges he distributed images depicting sexual abuse of a young girl, identified as a child who lives in the area.

Christopher Hammer, 42, is being held on $1 million bail on numerous charges including five counts of first degree encouraging child sexual abuse.

The investigation started after and FBI task force contacted local detectives February 21st to report a person they were investigating was suspected of trading sexually explicit images of minors over the internet.

Police seized his computers, external hard drives, media cards and cell phones. Other evidence was taken from the home but police would not elaborate because the investigation is ongoing.
