Commissioners Target Senator Wyden
Financing Josephine County and plus the Oregon and California lands were the main topic of conversation when County Commissioners made their monthly appearance on KAJO Radio’s Tuesday Talk Show.
It became apparent early there was dissatisfaction with the state’s congressional delegation in Washington, particularly Senator Ron Wyden, who now wields significant power as the chairman of the Senate’s Natural Resources committee.
Commissioner Hare on Senator Wyden, “The man has the chief negotiating opportunity of anybody.”
Commissioner Heck said he believes Senator Wyden has not assigned enough value to situation.
Commissioner Hare is journeying to Washington to lobby the delegation on resolving the issue of a timber harvest to fund a portion of the O & C counties.
