Police Seek Witnesses to Wonder Bur Assault
Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Detectives is asking anyone who may have witnessed an altercation in or near the Wonder Bur at about 12:45 a.m. on February 17th, to contact them.

Patrol officers and medical personnel were sent to 116 southwest H Street to investigate an unconscious man.

The investigation revealed Jeffery A. Potts, 47, of Grants Pass had been in an altercation with Todd A. Heckers, 32, also of Grants Pass, and that he may have fallen after being struck by Heckers, causing him to strike his head on the sidewalk.

Potts was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center and later transferred to Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment of a severe head injury. As of today Potts is still in intensive care and unable to be interviewed and his progress remains uncertain.

Heckers has been cooperative and interviewed by detectives. Several people may have witnessed the events leading up to the altercation as well as the fight itself.
