The Ashland City Council is scheduled to vote on the approval of a letter of intent outlining the terms of the Ashland Community Hospital’s merger with Asante at its 7:00 p.m. meeting tonight.

According to the letter, Asante would make every effort to offer employment to as many Ashland Community Hospital employees as possible in the Asante network, which includes the Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford and Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass.

The hospital would be run by Asante’s board of directors while the current hospital board would become a quality committee.
