Commissioners Delay Natural Resources Committee & Approve Travel
During the Wednesday Business Session last nightCounty Commissioners advanced a land use amendment to its second reading, delayed acting on a natural resources coordination committee because the order is not yet in final form and approved out of state travel expenses for Commissioner Hare to travel to Washington D.C. February 27th not to exceed $1,500.
Under matters from Commissioners, Vice Chair Cherryl Walker responded to repeated allegations that funds generated from the proposed criminal justice levy could be funneled anywhere the commissioners choose to put them. The Commissioner explained the Internal Service Fund, “Every department in the county has to pay ten percent administrative costs. We have consolidated the department’s expenses.”
The Commissioner pointed out the Sheriff’s Department uses computers maintained by the county I.T. Department as an example of administrative costs.
