The second victim of a crash that occurred Wednesday on Redwood Highway has succumbed to her injuries.

The crash occurred at 1:54 p.m. when a 2005 Dodge pickup driven by 75-year-old Floyd Dale Long of Crescent City was traveling southbound on the highway near milepost 37 and failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup crossed the northbound lane and crashed head on with a tree.

Long was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, 65-year-old Sandra Crockett of Crescent City, was transported by Mercy Flights to Rogue Regional Medical Center where she was being treated until she passed away.
