Bomb Squad Called to Canyonville Address; Two Arrested
The Oregon State Police bomb squad was called to a Canyonville home after the Douglas County Sheriff’s office served a search warrant for an ongoing burglary investigation.

During the search at 320 Moonlight Lane, officers located two pipe bombs, several blasting caps, one marijuana plant, two meth pipes, scales, a drift boat with all identifying numbers destroyed, stolen license plates, two stolen vehicles, and pieces of a third stolen vehicle.

The bomb squad disposed of the explosive devices and the homeowner, Jerry Hawkins, 47, was arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on several charges including manufacturing and possession of an explosive device, first degree theft by possession, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and several drug charges.

During the search Timothy Weckerly was found hiding in the brush outside the residence. He also was arrested and lodged on charges of possession of meth and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
